b. Uploading Via Filezilla (SKIP THIS STEP if you have already successfully installed your Psychotherapist theme via Wordpress) - Now you will learn how to upload your files using the Filezilla client.
First, BACKUP YOUR FILES! This is always the safest thing to do.

Next, download and install the Filezilla Client - http://filezilla-project.org/

Now use the right side panel to navigate to your theme folder. In the example above, the theme folder is in public_html/wp-content/themes/, however, not all web hosting have public_html, it may be something different in your server.

After your /themes folder is open, use the left side panel to navigate to the place where you have extracted the theme folder. In this example, the extracted theme folder is in my desktop themes folders.

Drag the extracted theme folder into your web hosting:

ftp
That's all there is to it!

Once you drag the files have finished copying, CLOSE THE FTP ROOT FILES FOLDER AND THE PAGE FILES FOLDER OF YOUR FTP FILES, then go to your Wordpress dashboard, navigate to Appearance->Themes, and see that Psychotherapist is one of your theme choices. Click on the Activate.

Theme Update

Nothing stands still: the updates for WP and plugins are constantly released and they are included in our template. From time to time there will be new updates of theme. We recommend you to use always the last theme version to avoid the issues with incorrect template functioning. While the theme update the theme files will be rewritten and if you made any changes directly in them, the changes will be lost.

So, if you are planning to customize your template, I insistently advise you to use Child Theme.

The theme update affects only the theme files and do not influence the data base. But, to avoid any difficulties, please, do the backup of theme files and data base before any update.

Follow the steps below to update theme through FTP:

Download the zipped package from ThemeForest and extract to your desktop. In the extracted package you will find a folder psychotherapist, which is the WordPress theme. Extract zip file and upload only extracted folder to /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server with overwriting. More details about using FTP can be found under instaling the theme section of this documentation. .
